rain on me

I shall blog today about my beloved group of seven and eight year olds! :) I've just realised just how fond i am of them now that the june hols are here and some have stopped coming for the month.

First, there's john. For those close enough around me, i think you've all heard enough about john. :) John's my tiny handsome. He loves to talk and talk and talk, and he and his best friend tiet gan kill my ears by competing with each other on who can get the word in faster. He especially loves to put his arms around me and say 'give granny a big kiss!'. One time i asked 'are you granny then?'

'YES!!'

:)

Just before he left for canada for hols, i taught him 'this is the song that doesn't end' song and the elmo song. He sang and sang them till he grew irritated by his own voice, that cutie.

Next there's tiet gan. He's the potential dreamboat, with a nice tan and white smile. Hehe. He and john are best friends yet they're so different; he's black and john's white; he's the quiet contemplative sort while john's the featherheaded talkative sort; he loves doing chinese assessments, john always begs to do english. He loves sitting beside me asking about any and every question under the sun and i usually have a hard time answering him heh.

Then there's cheryl and huiqi, who stick together like glue too. Recently cheryl started feeling insecure about her mother, and started writing letters to her like 'dear mummy, i hope that you are not too busy; i hope you can spend the time with me; i wish you can play with me..mummy do you love me?' ..and there was a yes/no option drawn beside that question. Trust a seven year old kid to put it so simply. Huiqi's the motherly one always trying to comfort and cheer cheryl up. And the cutest thing is that they two are so pretty, they could pass off as child actresses!

..okay i know im gushing, but i can't help it. Seriously those four can really melt anyone's heart.

Sometimes i come to work feeling tired and grumpy, but once any of those kids come crawling to me and start perching themselves on my lap, it's awwsville all the way for me. :) If anything, coming to work feels like going back to primary school all over again. Of course, there's the occasional spoilt brat. Let's call mine BQ. He's so famous for his tantrums all the teachers know him, but i shall be benevolent and say even BQ can have his cute moments.

Aiyah i know i'll miss them alot when i go back to school in 2 months time. :( Especially my johnjohn.

Yay thailand trip next tues! Okok church camp. :) Can't wait. Oh lookout for pictures of my kids below.

Sometimes when people get too close, you start taking their kindnesses for granted or blow up their idiosyncrasies to quarrelling proportions. It takes a hard slap to shake you out of that stage. I'll admit i need that slap. On the other hand, silences. Do NOT distance yourself from me without telling me why. It is very unkind.

Newspaper say blogged-about companies sue for slander, blogged-about people leh? Can sue for emotional distress or not?

I wonder if now is the time to take legal action and change my name to its rightful, er, surname. Can i ever live with the less-sophisticated-sounding CHEN my whole life or should i just claim my estranged TAN now. Hmm..i wonder how long the legal process would take. I mean, seriously, no problems with all chens out there; it just sucks hearing so many comments like eh how come you're the only chen in your family, were you adopted, oh no i wrote tan instead of chen in your pay cheque how its not valid already, eh eunice tan lizhen sounds better than eunice chen lizhen blah blah blah. Sigh.

Go watch Jerry Maguire whenever you get sick of humanity. It reinstills hope. And friends like vicki personify it. :)

My lifelong worry is finally over. :) My family used to tell me, get through o levels (check), get into jc (check), study hard (uncheck), get through a levels (check), then get into NUS (..check!). I can only scream yes yes YES!

My future just looks a tad clearer right now and i swear a sparkle just appeared in every object i laid eyes on.

Finally managed to book my driving test too; it's on the 5th july so, crossing both fingers and toes, i WILL get those probational plates on that day. Then --hooray a nice auto car to zoom around in! With daddy's supervision of course.

Three months of freedom left...and i say it with no groan under my breath. I'm going to school soon. Yippee!

And a nice total of 368 days together with dory just made my day. Haha. A special thank you to abide who helped sponsor our 1st year anniversary dinner at Olio's with two very nice set meals. :)
